A support project for young people aged 16-25 living in the Newcastle area moving from homelessness, temporary accommodation or from being in care to their own home.

A project working with vulnerable, disadvantaged and excluded people including those who have learning difficulties or mental health problems and older people in residential care and nursing homes.

£24,000 over 2 years towards salary costs
A project working with people with physical and learning disabilities; mental health problems and older people. They employ 5 staff and have over 60 volunteer advocates who are key to the success of the project.
The Space Project (Special Project Against Children's Exclusion), Berwick, Northumberland
£10,000 over 2 years towards support workers' salaries costs
This project helps children aged 5-16 who need specialist educational and emotional support and their families.
Community Regeneration Trust North East, South Shields, Tyne & Wear
A one-off grant of £12,694 for start-up costs for The Young Mother's Group
A project assisting people suffering from financial hardship, social exclusion and unemployment. The Young Mothers' Group is for teenage parents in South Tyneside. It aims to promote good parenting skills and healthy eating, and to provide information and advice.
The Lawnmowers, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear
A one-off grant of £10,000 for their Nightclub Project
People with learning disabilities run this drama group. They present theatre productions that deal with social, health, educational and family issues concerning people with learning disabilities. Their new Nightclub initiative is for people aged 15-25 and will provide a mobile sensory room and a film club.
Consett Churches Detached Youth Project, Co Durham
A one-off grant of £3,500 towards running costs and activitiesProject
The project works with young people aged 10-25 from socially and economically deprived family backgrounds in Consett. They respond to young people's needs as they arise, ie, arranging leisure activities, weekend breaks away (they have a cottage in Kielder Forest) and issue based workshops on drugs awareness and health issues. They also run Information Technology accredited courses.
